• Approximate location: city, state and country, derived from your IP address or the billing address you enter.
• Cookies and similar technologies: identifiers stored in your browser by us and by our partners (see section 4).
• Calls from our ads: if you reach us through a Google ad, Google may show a forwarding phone number and report the call's time, duration and your area code to us.
Information from others
We may receive reports from Google, Meta and similar partners about how people interact with our ads. These reports are usually aggregated or pseudonymous.
3. How we use information
- To take, confirm, change and cancel reservations, process payments, and host your stay.
- To answer your questions and requests.
- To send booking confirmations and other messages about your stay.
- To send marketing emails, if you signed up. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how people find and use the Site and the booking engine, and to improve them.
- To measure which advertising leads to bookings, and to show our ads to people likely to be interested in staying with us (see section 5).
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, invalid ad clicks and abuse of the Site.
- To comply with the law, including tax and accounting record-keeping, and to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
4. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser; pixels and tags are small pieces of code that tell a partner when a page loads or an action happens.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site and booking engine, and Google Ads and the Meta Pixel to measure which ads lead to bookings and to show our ads to people likely to be interested. We also use services that detect fraudulent ad clicks, block spam form submissions, and play embedded video, which may set their own cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of advertising as described in section 7. Some parts of the booking engine may not work without cookies.
5. Advertising and measurement
We advertise on Google, Facebook and Instagram. To learn which ads lead to bookings, and to show ads to people who have visited the Site or who resemble our guests, we let Google and Meta collect information through the tools in section 4. These companies may combine it with information they already have and use it under their own privacy policies.
Booking information we send to Meta. When you complete a booking online, we send Meta a record of the booking: its confirmation number, value, dates, guest count and room type, plus your browser type, IP address, state and country. We send this both from your browser and from our own server, so Meta can count bookings that ad blockers or browser settings would otherwise hide.
Hashed email. With that record, we send a hashed version of the email address you entered. Hashing turns your address into a fixed string of letters and numbers in your browser, before anything is sent. Meta can match the string to a Facebook or Instagram account that uses the same address, but cannot turn it back into your address. Your email address itself is never sent to Meta or to our server by this process. Meta uses matches to measure and improve our ads, and says it deletes unmatched hashes after matching.
Some state laws call this "targeted advertising" or "sharing". You can opt out as described in section 7.
6. How we share information
We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers that run parts of our business for us: our booking engine and property-management system, payment processing, website hosting and security, email delivery, and our marketing agency, which manages our website, analytics and advertising. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Advertising and analytics partners (Google and Meta), as described in sections 4 and 5.
- Legal and safety: when the law requires it, to respond to lawful requests from authorities, to enforce our policies, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our guests, staff or others.
- Business transfers: if the hotel is sold or changes ownership, guest records may transfer to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy for information collected under it.
- With your consent, or at your direction.
7. Your choices and rights
Opt out of Meta advertising. Email us (section 8) with the subject "Advertising opt-out" and the email address you book with. Within 10 business days, we will stop sending Meta any information about online bookings made with that address, from your browser or from our server. Our booking engine's built-in Google Analytics still records bookings; to limit Google's use of your data for ads, use Google's Ads Settings below. You can also:
- change your ad settings with Google and Meta;
- opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org;
- block or delete cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us. We will still send messages about your reservations.
Access, correction and deletion. You may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. We will respond within 45 days, after verifying your identity (usually by matching your name, email address and a reservation). We may keep records the law requires us to keep, such as tax and payment records. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision; we will answer the appeal within 60 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.
We will not charge you more or treat you differently for using these rights.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. The Site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Please use the opt-out methods above.
Third-party tracking across websites. The advertising and analytics partners in section 4 may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites, including this Site.
8. Retention, security, children, changes and contact
Retention. We keep reservation and payment records for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes, contact-form messages for up to 2 years, and email subscriptions until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Our partners keep data under their own policies.
Security. We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections for the Site and booking engine. Card payments are handled by our booking engine's payment processing, not stored on the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Reservations must be made by an adult. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy. We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and for significant changes we will add a notice on the Site's home page.
